How to be a Sociable Leader

by | May 15, 2019 | Universal Leadership

So many people in the technology space are introverts, at least it seems that way when we work with Information Technology groups.

How can you be sociable when what you want to do is focus on the tech solution?

Here are some hints and tips that work on a one-to-one basis and still build community:

  • Take an interest in others.
  • Be the connector for bringing others together.
  • Congratulate others for their wins.
  • Create a safe force-field around you where people can share confidences.
  • Reiterate the “why”.
  • Rally the troops one-by-one toward a common goal.
  • Care about the motivation of others.
  • Ask about their family, then remember these details.

Remember, relationships are the foundation for how things really get accomplished at work.

Build them – you don’t have to do it with a crowd, but doing it will set you apart from the those unwilling to make a difference.
