What it means to be a gracious leader

by | Apr 17, 2019 | Executive Coaching

As the sun begins to set on your day, have you asked yourself if you have practiced graciousness?

What does being gracious mean?

First we need to ask “what is grace?”

Oxford dictionary has two descriptions that, when combined, define someone who is gracious.

  1. simple elegance or refinement of movement
  2. Courteous good will

Let’s unpack how that’s applied.

  • Winning elegantly and not rubbing it in the loser’s face.
  • Loving attitude toward others.
  • A mentor who is invested in others.
  • Someone who knows happy customers equals great business.
  • Has a strong sense of community and a give-back mindset.

This is what a gracious leader looks like.

Do you know a gracious leader, one with patience, kindness, and is the kind of person you want to follow?
